MLK, Jr Day 2020

Bible reading:  Num. 22-24

No man can curse what God has blessed. In the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and the men and women who walked with him inspired a nation to lawfully extend the rights and privileges enjoyed by some to all of its citizens. His grace in the face of irrational hostilities shook the consciences of many and forced them to question their beliefs. We have come a long way since the days of lawful segregation and Jim Crow but, as recent events have shown, we still have work to do within ourselves and in our interactions with others.

It’s takes little effort to mock and discredit what we don’t understand. Let’s not settle. Let us not be proud of our ignorance. Take a moment today to be friendly, respectful and compassionate to others. One exudes strength when showing kindness and sincerity, not weakness. We are strong nation when we are are united. Division will be our fall.

May God bless you today and always.
